Pelee Island Winery Partners with Windsor/Essex County Humane Society to Celebrate 100 Years of Compassion

Kingsville, ON (March 30th, 2026) Pelee Island Winery is proud to announce a special partnership with the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society (WECHS) in celebration of the organization’s 100th anniversary.

Founded in 1926, the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society has spent a century providing compassionate care, shelter, and advocacy for animals across the region. To honour this milestone, Pelee Island Winery has created a limited-edition collection of custom-labelled wines, with proceeds supporting the Humane Society’s ongoing mission.

This initiative builds on a long-standing relationship between Pelee Island Winery and the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society. Over the years, the two organizations have collaborated on a number of successful community-driven initiatives, including Pooches & Pinot and Pet Pics custom wine labels, collectively raising thousands of dollars in support of animal welfare in Windsor-Essex.

The commemorative lineup includes three fan-favourite varietals: Cabernet Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sparkling Secco, each featuring a unique label celebrating 100 years of animal welfare in Windsor-Essex.

As part of the initiative, $1 from every bottle sold will be donated directly to the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society, helping fund vital programs such as animal rescue, rehabilitation, and community outreach services. Each purchase directly contributes to providing shelter, medical care, and adoption support for animals in need.

“This partnership is about celebrating an incredible local organization while giving our customers a meaningful way to give back. The Humane Society plays a critical role in our community, and we’re proud to support their next 100 years.”

  • Connor Lepoidevin, Marketing Manager – Pelee Island Winery

The Humane Society, a registered not-for-profit organization, relies heavily on community and corporate support to provide care for thousands of animals each year and to deliver programs that promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

“Reaching 100 years is a powerful reminder of what compassionate communities can accomplish together,” said Lynnette Bain, Executive Director of the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society. “For a century, our supporters have stood beside animals in their most vulnerable moments, and this partnership with Pelee Island Winery honours that legacy in a truly beautiful way. Every bottle purchased tells a story of kindness and hope—and we invite the community to join us by raising a glass, giving back, and helping ensure the next generation of animals receives the same love and care that has defined our first 100 years.”
