WECHS VETERINARY CLINIC

spay & neuter prices

When the WECHS Veterinary Clinic opened, our goal was to reduce the number of stray animals and remove financial barriers to essential veterinary care.

As our community’s needs have evolved — and to continue to align with our mission —we’ve had to make thoughtful changes to ensure the greatest impact with the resources we have.

Today, our clinic focuses on:
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for community cats, which is the most effective way to humanely reduce outdoor cat populations.
Targeted support for owned pets through referrals from trusted community partners and municipal-issued vouchers for low-income residents and feral caregivers, ensuring help reaches those who need it most.

This approach allows us to reduce suffering at its source, prevent future homelessness, and support vulnerable families — all while staying within our capacity as a charitable organization.

Same Day Service

Animals are to be dropped off and picked up same day at scheduled times. We do not board pets overnight following surgery.

Our clinic provides limited services, and hours of operation vary. You must have an appointment, walk-ins are not accepted.

Feral Cat Surgery with Community Cat Package

Cats must arrive in a live trap to qualify.

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society spay neuter clinic is actively assisting individual caregivers and groups working on TNR programs. To help keep the free-roaming population healthier, a community cat package is provided at no additional charge for feral cats. The package includes an ear tip, microchip, and FVRCP vaccine. Learn more about TNR HERE.

Please note that patients may be declined at the veterinarian’s discretion if their physical condition or presentation indicates that the surgery is too high-risk.

Dog Spay or Neuter

Publicly booked dog surgeries are currently limited to those approved through our Rex’s Legacy or Spay Your Mama program, or through partner referrals.
