Spay Your Mama

We understand that sometimes “oops” litters happen. While it may be tempting to put an ad online and sell the puppies, that may mean that your pet’s puppies could go to homes unvaccinated or unaltered, and continue the breeding cycle. But we can help! Not only is there no charge to surrender a litter of puppies to the Humane Society, but we will also give you a coupon that will allow you to get their mom altered for FREE at our spay/neuter clinic.* We will also ensure that your pet’s puppies are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and vet checked before going home, and we also provide support to adopters to help them get through this sometimes challenging early puppy months.

For more information about Spay Your Mama, or to arrange to surrender your puppies and get your mama dog (and dad if he lives in the home) altered for free, please email sheltermanager@windsorhumane.org or call 519-966-5751, ext 113.

*Dogs must be healthy surgery candidates for surgery. If the spay surgery is determined to be too high risk for your dog in the discretion of our veterinarian, we will work with you to develop alternative methods of support (such as neutering the dad if he’s in your care).
