Five years ago on August 14th, 2021 we received an early morning phone call from the Humane Society asking if we would like to come pick up “Amy”, who we now call “Starla”! She and her entire litter had been sent down to WECHS following forest fires that were affecting northern Ontario communities, displacing many humans and animals. The litter was only 10 weeks old.

From day one – Starla has been the star of the show! Her humans play in a touring band called Talking Violet, and Starla attended her first band practice the same weekend as her adoption. She has been in music videos, visited radio stations and has spent a huge majority of her days in the recording studio. She is the ultimate SoundDog!

When she’s not being a music star, she loves hanging out in the backyard with her squishmallows, enjoying window-down car rides and cuddling up to her family members and her best friend Boss, a foxhound!

Rescuing Starla has changed SO many lives in our circle. She is the center of our world and we simply can’t imagine our lives without the best choice ever along the way – choosing to adopt! 

We think she looks pretty proud to wear her WECHS bandana 😊
