Snorky's Story

Snorky came into our care after she and her owner were displaced by a devastating house fire. One of our Animal Protection Officers was dispatched to the scene and immediately transported Snorky for emergency veterinary care. Her fur carried the smell of smoke, her whiskers were singed, and she was suffering from painful burns to her paw pads. While she was thankfully stable, she clearly needed ongoing medical attention.

As Snorky’s owner received support and temporary housing through the Welcome Centre, Snorky remained in our care through our Emergency and Extended Boarding programs. We were able to continue Snorky’s treatment and provide a safe place for her to heal. After five long weeks apart, our team was finally able to reunite Snorky with her owner.
