SPECIAL COVID MODIFICATIONS TO INTAKE & DROP OFF POLICIES

  • Clients will be given specific drop off times and must adhere to these times. Please do not arrive early and try to avoid arriving late where possible. Late arrivals will be seen last to ensure we maintain physical distancing and safe capacity numbers at all times. If you do arrive early, we ask that you remain in your vehicle and refrain from lining up until it is your assigned drop off time.
  • Upon arrival, we ask that clients form a line according to the social distancing markers indicated on the pavement outside our building. We recognize that dogs may not necessarily respect the 6 feet of social distancing norm, so you may leave your dog in the vehicle until you are next in line to enter our building.
  • There is a 2 person per pet limit allowed while lining up outside the building; however, only one person will be permitted to enter the building for intake.
  • While waiting, staff will be around to distribute intake forms to complete (a copy of the form may have been emailed to you at the time of booking; if not, an electronic version is available *here*. We encourage you to read and familiarize yourself with the form ahead of time. If you are able, you can print and complete the form at home to bring with you the day of surgery).
  • Do not enter the building until you are prompted by our staff. To maintain safe physical distancing, we are limiting the number of people allowed in our lobby at one time.
  • Payment will be required in the morning at intake. At this time, we are accepting debit and Visa or MasterCard credit.
  • You will be provided with a discharge/pick-up time before you leave. If you are unable to adhere to that time, please notify staff as soon as possible.

INTAKE & DROP OFF POLICIES

Please read the following instructions carefully, as any animal that does not meet the outlined physical parameters for surgery (over/underweight, undisclosed medical conditions, vomiting anything other than bile), will be declined for surgery, without refund. If your pet has a medical condition or is currently on medications, please call us to confirm whether he/she is a good candidate for surgery within our program.

  • You must have an appointment. Please call 519-966-1118 to schedule your pet for surgery.
  • In order to protect your pet from the possibility of contracting an illness while here at the clinic, we recommend that you have your pet vaccinated at least two weeks prior to your appointment. Otherwise, vaccinations will be available at the time of surgery.
  • Animals must be between the ages of 4 months and 5 years, within normal weight range according to the following criteria: Dog body condition score or Cat body condition score and be in good health. Animals older than 5 years may be accepted for surgery at the veterinarian’s discretion, and may be required to have pre-anesthetic blood work done prior to surgery. This blood work may be done at our clinic prior to surgery.
  • Please advise us of any illnesses/treatments at the time of booking, or as soon as anything develops prior to surgery. Females must be finished nursing kittens/puppies for at least two weeks prior to receiving surgery and should not be in heat. Males must have two testicles present in the scrotal sac. Males over 6 months of age with one or two un-descended testicles may receive surgery at the discretion of the veterinarian.
  • Please leave your animal in the car until you have completed all of the required paperwork. A technician will advise you when to retrieve your pet. You must complete the necessary admission form when you arrive. Admission typically takes 10 minutes to complete.
  • All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must come in individual carriers or live traps. Cats that are not confined in proper cat carriers will not be accepted for surgery.  Feral cats must be brought in live traps unless prior approval has been obtained to use a carrier.
  • All appointments must be prepaid the morning of surgery by credit card, debit, or municipal voucher.  Cheques are not accepted.
  • Animal pickup is the same day at the time provided you in the morning. We do not board pets falling surgery.
