Financial Donations

Consider a monthly donation. Help us provide treatment for more than 7,500 animals that come through our door annually. Membership fees, donations, bequests and fundraising are our only sources of revenue for Humane Education programs and activities. The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society is a registered charity and all donations are tax deductible. Donations fund important activities such as:

• Our Spay and Neuter Program
• Our Building Fund
• School Humane Education Program
• "The Pumpkin Fund"
• Cruelty Investigations
• Pet Therapy Program and others

We depend on the many contributions of our Supporters

• Collect Grocery Tapes - You can collect grocery tapes from Zehrs for which we are eligible for a charity rebate. Please put all your tapes in an envelope and write the total of all the tapes on the outside (please note that the Real Canadian Superstore ended its Save-a-Tape Receipt Program effecitve Friday, February 29, 2008 and Sobey's discontinued their TapeSaver program effective March 31, 2009).
• Drop off your Canadian Tire™ Money. We purchase everything from paper towels to scrub brushes and laundry detergent to batteries from Canadian Tire using Canada’s second currency donated by our supporters.
• HBC Rewards - The Humane Society now has an account registered in its name with the HBC Rewards Program. Please support us by requesting points be directed to the benefit of the animals whenever you shop at The Bay, Zellers and other participating retailers. Points can be credited to the Humane Society automatically each time a purchase is made by contacting Customer Service and requesting a percentage of all points be credited to our Shelter ID # 837-0133. Points can also be donated from an individual account to the Humane Society by providing the Shelter ID # 837-0133 to Customer Service and requesting a redemption and transfer.
• Purchase a "Spay & Neuter All Pets (S.N.A.P.) Pin." The Humane Society uses all proceeds from Snap Pins to support our ongoing efforts to reduce pet overpopulation.  A donation of $3.50 will enable you to proudly display evidence of your support for this worthy objective.
• Support our "Help End the Heartache" Shelter Expansion Fund by purchasing a paw print lapel pin ($5.00) or car magnet ($10.00).
