We’re pleased to share that our board of directors recently approved a new 5-year strategic plan for the Windsor/ Essex County Humane Society. This document is a general outline of our broad goals for the coming few years. On a yearly basis we will use this direction to develop more specific steps and programs to implement the broad goals of the plan.  While our previous few strategic plans included a primary focus on growing and expanding our operations and programs, this plan also includes a new community-focused programming aspect that we’re very excited about. Want to be part of making this work possible? Please consider a donation…we can’t make this happen without your support.

From May 13 to June 14 (Father’s Day weekend, or in our case, Don’t be a Father’s Day weekend), receive $10 off your owned cat neuter! That means you can get your pet cat neutered for only $40. Not only will you prevent unwanted kittens, but your cat will be less likely to engage in negative behaviours like fighting and spraying, and best of all, you will be more likely to spend much longer together – research shows that neutered male cats live 62 percent longer than unneutered ones!

Please note that appointments are booked Monday through Friday, and you must have an appointment to qualify for this promo. Discount applies only to owned male cat neuters, and cannot be combined with community cat package, or any other offers. To book your cat’s appointment, please give our clinic a call at 519-966-1118.

We have some awesome kids in our community! The 100 Kids Who Care Windsor chose the Humane Society for their donations last weekend. The young people use their own money, and choose a charity each meeting to donate to. And the Planet Earth Club at Marlborough Public School also worked hard to raised donations to help the animals here at the Humane Society. We want to send a big thank you to all these amazing children!

Mercede stopped by on her 11th birthday. This generous gal decided to ask for things for the animals here at WECHS instead asking for a gift for herself. Thanks Mercede!

The animals you’ll meet in this video were in desperate need of help when they came through our doors. But wait until you see them now! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Special thanks to Pretty in the Algorithm and Syx Langemann Photography for creating this video!

Olivia celebrated her birthday by raising donations and supplies for the animals at the Humane Society.  Thank you Olivia, and happy birthday!

Ken from Windsor Chrysler stopped by recently with a donation from their staff dress down Fridays. They raised a whopping 848!  Thank you to everyone there for choosing the Humane Society to benefit from your donations!

Mya celebrated her 11th birthday at the Humane Society this weekend, and instead of gifts, she asked all her friends to bring gifts for the animals instead! Thank you Mya, and happy birthday – we hope you had a great day!

This lovely young man is William! For his 7th birthday he decided to ask his friends and family for donations to help support the animals. He stopped by to drop off his donation of almost $200 this past week. Thank you William for your generosity and support!

Thank you so much to Elise and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls organization, for stopping by with a donation for the animals. The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a non-profit youth organization that teaches leadership, confidence and citizenship. Elise was chosen by the group to chose where the funds would be donated to and she chose WECHS. On behalf of all the animals here Elise, thank you for your support!
