Over the next two weeks we will be undergoing major upgrades to our intake areas, including new flooring, cat kennel modifications, and painting. We will still be accepting urgent intakes, but are asking anyone who is considering surrendering an animal to hold off until mid-December if possible. We will remain open regular hours to come and look for lost animals, and for adoptions. For more information, please give us a call at 519-966-5751.

This Black Friday, instead of hitting the stores to purchase a discounted television, consider visiting the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society instead to adopt a furry friend. On Black Friday only, all dogs and pocket pets will have their adoption fees discounted by 50%, and all cats will have their adoption fees discounted by 75%! In addition, the usual $30 admin fee on adoptions will be waived, and the discounts apply to animals of all ages!

Previously the Humane Society limited Black Friday promotions to black animals. But this year we’ve expanded the promotion to include all adoptable animals! This massive sale is taking place to help find homes for as many animals as possible, in preparation for upcoming renovations in the Humane Society’s intake areas. Our Adoption Centre is only a few years old, but the older parts of our building were constructed in the early 1970s and badly need a facelift.

The Humane Society Adoption Centre will be open November 25 from 11am to 8pm.

We will be at Devonshire Mall in a booth between RW&Co and Bowring from November 17-20 during regular mall hours, selling our wonderful holiday merchandise. Afterwards, merchandise will be available while supplies last at the Humane Society.
