A great thank you to Gerry from St. Francis Advocates who helped collect items for the Humane Society from our wish list. Gerry loves animals and enjoys visiting the Humane Society, so he decided to help collect items for us. Thank you so much!

Aiden and Daxton donated their birthday money to the Humane Society instead of receiving presents.  Thank you so much Aiden and Daxton, the animals truly appreciate your generosity and support.  You two are remarkable boys!

The Humane Society is excited to announce our newly expanded humane education program. The new program is curriculum based, and provides structured learning opportunities for every grade level. Humane education teaches empathy towards animals, but it does so much more than that. It also helps students examine the ramifications of their actions and how their choices can cause suffering to others, prompting them to think about all their choices and how they affect the world, making them better citizens in our community.

Local educators who would like to learn more about the program are invited to contact education@windsorhumane.org. We will be offering open houses at the Humane Society from September 23 to 27 to provide teachers and other education professionals with more information about the new program.

If you know a teacher in Windsor and Essex County please share this with them or tag them in the comment section to let them know about it!

Mr. S is a grade 3 teacher and one of his students nominated him for the Ice Bucket Challenge. S.R. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel School – because of his love for animals, instead of pouring cold water over his head, he made a donation in your honour to the Humane Society. Our thanks to both of you!
