The staff at the ScotiaBank Tecumseh/Lakeshore branch helped fundraise for the animals at the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society this past November. The Humane Society is very near and dear to all the branch staff and their clients, who were all extremely generous with their donations. The bank matched all of the staff’s hard work and several personal donations made at the branch.

The team raised money through ticket sale for the Windsor Spirfires vs. the London Knights hockey game. They also participated in the Hallowoof Walkathon.

Angie Chauvin held one of her Pet Pix events at the branch as well, helping them raise additional money the bank also matched!

Over the last four years the bank has raised over $24,000 to help animals right here in Windsor/Essex County. Thank you so much for your hard work! We couldn’t do it without you!

Thank you to 100 Kids Who Care Windsor! The group of youth, ages 3-15,  meets four times a year and each member gets to nominate a charity. Each meeting three charities are chosen, and the child who nominated that charity gets to speak about the cause. The members then vote for which charity they want to select. This time, they picked the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society. Thank you so much for being involved in your community and caring so much!

Christopher (on the right), decided to collect items for the Humane Society instead of getting gifts for himself for his 11th birthday. He brought tools, gift cards, blankets, Canadian Tire money, office supplies, cleaning supplies, toys and treats for the animals with his cousin Nathan (on the left). Thank you for your generosity!

Licks for love

Kaleigh and her friends decided to hold a garage sale to raise money for the animals at the Humane Society.  They called their effort Licks 4 Love, and they raised more than $400!  She is pictured with Kara, Christian, and Andrew along with feline friend Wilfred, while friends Emily, Jacquline, Andrew, Nathaniel, Abigail, Ada, Kiniw, Abigail, Rachel, Janki, and Taylor are not pictured.  Thanks for all your hard work guys!

Thank you to twins Sasha and Layla, who instead of birthday gifts, asked for items to help the animals at the Humane Society! We really appreciate your generosity!

We would also like to thank long time supporter Andrea, who brought in supplies to help the Humane Society! She brought us things to help the animals and much needed office supplies to help us offset our administrative costs. Thank you Andrea!

Deep Black Friday Discounts at the Humane Society

This Black Friday you could battle the crowds to bring home a new TV, or you could come to the Humane Society and bring home a new best friend!  For one day only, on Black Friday, all predominantly black animals will have their adoption fee reduced by 60 percent!

The Humane Society Adoption Centre will be open from 11am to 8pm.  Adoptable animals can be previewed online.  Even with these deep adoption fee discounts, adopted dogs and cats still come vet checked, spayed or neutered, vaccinated (except rabies), microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, tested for FeLV/FIV (cats) and heartworm (dogs), with post adoption support including training sessions for dogs, and with 6 weeks of pet insurance.  Discounts cannot be combined and do not apply to previously adopted animals.

You’ll also receive special yummy treats courtesy of Candid K Nines!

Discounts apply only to predominantly black as determined by the Humane Society. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption. Discounts cannot be combined. Valid on adoption applications submitted November 28, 2014 only.

This holiday season, when you make a gift donation, you’ll be able to select an ornament from our tree. Each ornament represents a gift provided to animals in our community.

It’s a great gift for people who have it all, or those tricky secret Santa exchanges. We’ll even include a special holiday card so you can let them know what their gift has done for animals in Windsor/Essex County.
