A big thank you to all the Wendy’s locations of Windsor/Essex County. The Humane Society was part of their Community Connection Day on March 25th and received a portion of sales profits on that day. Local managers came in to present us with a check for $2,012.21 this week. The money will go a long way to helping all the animals in our care. Thank you once again!

Thanks to the hard work of one of our volunteers, Teresa Flockhart, a donation was made in honor of her volunteerism by SunLife Financial through their volunteer recognition program in the amount of $500.  Way to go, Teresa and thank you SunLife!

Teresa is a master when it comes to advocating for small animal adoptions

We want to give a shout out to Brooke, who raised money and in-kind donations for the Humane Society through her awesome bake sale.  Way to go, Brooke!

Diane decided to start a ‘pennies for pets’ fundraiser, and asked her friends and family to donate spare change to the Humane Society. When it was all added up she had collected $393.28, and a lot of Canadian Tire money as well! We love the fact that she was so generous and creative, and we also love the fact that she rolled all the coins herself so we didn’t have to! A big thank you from us to Diane and her friends 🙂

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society will be at the semi-annual Ladies Expo, taking place Sunday April 14th at the Caboto Club from 10am-5pm. We will be on hand with information about volunteering, donation and adoption opportunities. We will also be featuring some great adoptable dogs during the show on the sage at 11am and 1pm. If you’re looking for a new family member, stop by and check us out.

We will be next to a great new local business at the show, Livin’ & Lovin’ Life. They will be featuring their unique line of clothing and bumper stickers that promote the passion one feels for their favorite sport, hobby or love of pets. PLUS: The Humane Society will receive a portion of products from their sales!! Stop by, check it out and help support the Windsor/Essex Humane Society and a great local business.

Ask your friends, family & co-workers to pledge for you TODAY!

The Roof Over Our Heads Fundraising Challenge is a call to volunteers of the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society to help raise funds for much-needed shelter renovation projects such as the roof over our intake area, and a better drainage system for the intake shelter runs. As volunteers, you have brought these issues to our attention; however, we cannot make headway on these projects without your fundraising efforts.

The Challenge will run from Tuesday, April 2nd to Thursday, April 25th. Challenge winners will be announced on Monday, April 29th

 The request is simple

We aren’t asking for your money, but we are asking that you use your networks to help raise pledges. YOU know how important this building is to the animals, to the staff, and to you. Ask your family, friends, and co-workers to recognize this importance too!

Contact Katelyn at (519) 966-5751 ext. 21 or for a copy of the package.
